Why you need these Face Wipes

I just ran around a busy restaurant in pain, pretending I’m fine and making small talk with strangers, to then commute 2 hours home (this is on my good days). I can barely get myself down the train platform, so finding time for a proper skincare routine doesn’t quite make it to the top of my priority list. If there is anything at all I can do to save time, energy, and money, count me in!

Whether it’s a late work night or I physically can’t make it out of bed, I still want to make sure I care for my skin. Especially when medication, stress, and my body deciding that I’m the enemy, really wreaks havoc on my everything.

Spending eight dollars on a pack of face wipes that barely lasted me a week isn’t too fun when I’m dropping hundreds on a new medication. When I did decide to loosen the purse strings, I still found they left my skin dry and makeup still behind.

Someone tell me, what is the point? Why waste the little energy I do have?

In my boredom, I started to experiment. I read up on skincare and played with different products and thankfully found an easy little concoction that left my skin feeling and looking fantastic.

It worked, it was easy, and I was thrilled.

Super easy to make and great for your skin, you will absolutely love this DIY skincare hack.

DIY Face Wipes

This quick little recipe makes tons of wipes. Your skin will be glowing and flawless and your wallet will be a little thicker. Plus they make great gifts! My friends and family love them and I will never use store-bought again!

Face Wipe Recipe

  • 1 TBSP of witch hazel.

I usually like to use Thayers Alcohol-Free which will run you about $9. But once I started making so many I switched to Solimo Witch Hazel for $4 and it works just as well.
  • 2 cups of distilled water.

If you don’t have distilled water readily available, just boil the water on the stove to help purify it. Be sure to allow the water to cool before applying to the skin.
  • 3 TBSP of coconut oil.

I prefer This One which will run you about $15.

This is where the fun part comes in.

You’re going to want around 25-30 drops of essential oil. My favorites are Lemon (obviously), Teatree, Cucumber, and Grapefruit, but you can use your own preferred scents.

I use oils a lot so buying this set made sense for me. Plus they are great for DIY projects. They also have smaller sets available. Check out this great essential oil set,

And this beautiful storage box. I couldn’t resist.

  • * This part is optional *

I recently tried adding 1 TBSP of Almond oil for an added skin benefit. This adds some extra moisture and helps to keep skin cells healthy. Great for chapped or irritated skin.
  • Mix the ingredients together (I like to shake them up using my bartender flair) and pour it over your facial cloths. These are super gentle on your skin and absorb the mixture nicely.

I usually use an old take-out food container. Ziplock bags work well too and are good for travel. I haven’t found a container yet that I love enough to recommend, but if you have any suggestions, I’d love to know what works best for you.

Please Enjoy
